Young Jets win F3 Derby thriller

Newcastle Jets have run out 3-2 winners in a pulsating F3 Derby against the Central Coast Mariners in the Foxtel National Youth League.

An entertaining clash saw all five goals scored in a frantic first half.

The Jets made the ideal start, edging in front with a goal via Finn Parris.

But the Mariners slowly found their groove and took the lead with two goals in the space of four minutes, first from Anthony Kalik and then another by Brandon Le May.

A crazy openin stanza then changed momentum again, with Josh Barresi stealing the show.

The Jets attacker netted twice in the space of 60 seconds to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead for the visitors.

It was a lead they wouldn’t relinquish after the break to ensure the Hunter club end their NYL campaign on a high.
