A double from Jai Ingham has helped Brisbane Roar to a 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in a meeting of two winless teams in the Foxtel NYL.

A double from Jai Ingham has helped Brisbane Roar to a 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in a meeting of two winless teams in the Foxtel National Youth League at Marconi Stadium.

The Wanderers fielded a trio of first-team squad members in Jason Trifiro, Dean Heffernan and Tahj Minniecon but it was to little avail in a fast-tempo contest with the Roar deserved victors.

Brisbane-s Shannon Brady broke the deadlock by sweeping home from close range after goalkeeper Thomas Manos was unable to hold Patrick Theodore-s angled shot from inside the penalty area.

Jai Ingham then crashed home a spectacular finish from the edge of the penalty area as the Roar doubled the advantage just past the half-hour mark.

Brisbane goalkeeper Denver Crickmore proved himself to be a stout last line of defence, showing his ability on several occasions, notably with a double block on the half-hour mark,

The Wanderers had several half-chances, notably via skipper Jake McGing but failed to haul themselves back into the contest.

Martin Lo came agonisingly close with a well-hit dipping free-kick for the Wanderers, while Roar invariably looked sharp going forward with their interchange of short passes a feature.

Brisbane extended the winning margin in the latter stages with Ingham coolly directing in a far-post header from a pinpoint right-sided cross.

The Wanderers, however, secured a consolation in injury time with Shannon D-Cunha pushing home from close range after the goalkeeper-s fumble.
