Perth Glory face a tough ask on home turf against a team they have yet to beat in eight matches across five previous seasons of the Westfield W-League. The star-laden Canberra side arriving in Perth is a sight that Glory coach Jamie Harnwell could do without.
Perth Glory-s season is going from bad to worse. Struggling to find form, the Glory have been hit by a horror run with injuries. Defender Sasha Andrews and Matildas midfielder ace Collette McCallum are the latest to be struck down, with the latter out for the season in a massive blow. The Glory competed with Western Sydney Wanderers for much of last weekend-s 3-0 loss only to suffer in the attacking third, and the eventual return of striker Kate Gill after Christmas will be a welcome boost.
Canberra United retuned to winning ways last Saturday with a routine 3-0 win at Newcastle Jets with both Michelle Heyman and Stephanie Ochs on song, and unlucky not to bag several more goals. Canberra will be aiming for three more points and a return to the summit after suffering their only loss of the campaign against Brisbane a fortnight ago. They will, however, have to make do without Georgia Yeoman-Dale and Caitlin Munoz who will both sit out this match with injury.
