Roar, Adelaide share epic as Sydney FC stay perfect in Foxtel Y-League

Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United fought out a four-goal thriller as the tables began to take shape in Round 3 of the Foxtel Y-League.

Sydney FC are the only club in the competition left protecting a perfect record after firing an ominous warning in Conference B.

Roar never say die in Reds draw

Brisbane Roar twice battled back from a goal down to stay level on points with Adelaide United in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Ninko Beric and Pacifique Niyongabire puts the Reds ahead at either end of the match, but Daniel Leck and Shannon Brady struck equalisers in the 63rd and 87th minutes to seal a share of the points.

Mariners shade Wanderers at Marconi Stadium

Western Sydney Wanderers included Jaushua Sotirio and Nick Fitzgerald but their presence wasn't enough to stop Central Coast Mariners from claiming a 2-1 victory.

Adam Berry's opener and a Tass Mourdoukoutas own goal in the space of 18 second-half minutes gave the Mariners a two-goal advantage and they held on for a second win in three matches despite Oliver Puflett's late consolation.

Sky Blues cruise past Canberra

Sydney FC warmed up for this weekend's derby date with Wanderers by storming to a 4-0 win over Canberra United.

Luke Ivanovic notched twice before half-time while Hamish Lamberton and Ben Van Meurs grabbed one apiece within 15 minutes of the restart as the Conference B leaders made it two on the trot.

Good, Spiranovic involved as City ease past Glory

The final match of the weekend saw Melbourne City bounce back from their defeat in Brisbane to outclass Perth Glory 3-0 in Western Australia.

Curtis Good and Matthew Spiranovic both gained precious minutes but the match was all about City, who went ahead early through Moudi Najjar and had Dylan Pierias and a Jayden Leader own goal to thank for making the points safe late on.
