Officials named for Foxtel NYL Grand Final

Football Federation Australia Director of Referees Ben Wilson has today announced that Lachlan Keevers has been appointed to referee the 2015-16 Foxtel National Youth League Grand Final, between Sydney FC and Adelaide United.

“Lachlan has performed strongly throughout the season and this appointment recognises his consistency and commitment,” Wilson said.

“Being appointed to a Grand Final is an honour and I hope Lachlan and his team enjoy the experience on Saturday.”

Speaking from Melbourne, Keevers was thrilled to have been appointed to the Grand Final and was looking forward to the match.

“I was overjoyed finding out I had been appointed to the match. It was very satisfying knowing that I had achieved my goal for the season after all the hard work that I’d put in,” he said.

“I have felt that this has been my strongest season of my refereeing career so far. My decision making has been very consistent on my performances and I have put that down to the hard work that I have put in off the pitch trying to improve. I feel that I am a much more complete referee than previous seasons and will continue to drive towards my goal of refereeing on the Hyundai A-League.”

Joining Keevers on the Grand Final are Assistant Referees Matthew McOrist and Stephen Laurie and Fourth Official Tim Danaskos.

Saturday’s Grand Final at Central Coast Stadium will be the first National Youth League Grand Final since the 2009/10 Grand Final which was refereed by current full time Hyundai A-League Referee Jarred Gillett.
