Adverse weather has put the Central Coast Mariners’ National Youth League celebrations on hold with their clash with Sydney FC postponed because of a waterlogged Pluim Park.

That means there will be no NYL matches played on Friday after Football Federation Australia advised the Gold Coast United-Brisbane Roar game has also been postponed.

The Mariners youngsters were due to be crowned this season’s champions, as they hold a three-point lead over the second-placed Perth Glory on the table and have a vastly superior goal difference.

While it is mathematically possible for the Glory to snatch the title, they would require an absolute miracle to do so as their goal difference is just +6 while the Mariners’ is +25.

The Glory travel to Melbourne to take on bottom side Victory at Kingston Heath on Sunday and would have to win the game by more than 10 goals and then require the Mariners losing their match by a similar figure.
